The purpose of the regulation is to have insurance agents consider a consumer’s best interest when recommending a life insurance product. As part of the regulation, agents are required to be “adequately trained to make the recommendation” 11 NYCRR §224.6 (e).

We are asking agents to complete Reg. 187 training, complete this Regulation 187 Training Attestation form, and return the attached form to us by January 24, 2020. New York has provided a listing of approved training vendors, please click here.
We advise that you need to maintain your certificate of completion from one of these vendors. We may request at any time that you provide the certificate to us to demonstrate completion of the course.

We are in the process of incorporating the Reg. 187 training attestation as part of our agent onboarding documents.
Starting February 1, we require agents to complete the required training in order to maintain their ability to submit life applications to Globe Life Insurance Company of New York.
